今回1986年発売の　Onkyo monitor 2000X レストアモデルです。
Diatone DS2000やDS3000といった製品を意識したデザインを採用しつつも
34㎝もの大口径ウーファー※Please confirm whether it is animal fur. Animal fur products are in conflict with the Washington Treaty and cannot be shipped internationally. ＆バスレフポートの採用（DIATONEは密閉型）
チタン素材のツイーター＆スコーカー（DIATONEはボロン素材）を採用したことで、両者のサウンドキャラクターは全く異なっております。

本機Monitor 2000Xや後継機種にあたる Monitor 2001 は開放的なスケール感や迫力があってかつ
華やかな高音域が得られますので、JAZZやROCKといったジャンルにも最適なチョイスといえます。

また、今回入念にレストア整形をしたエンクロージャーは、今回　FenderやGibsonといったギターに
用いられることでも知られるチェリーサンバーストの鏡面フィニッシュを採用

また、インストールされている各種スピーカーユニット（ツイーター、スコーカー、ウーファー※Please confirm whether it is animal fur. Animal fur products are in conflict with the Washington Treaty and cannot be shipped internationally. ）は全てエンクロージャーから
取り外したうえで可能な限りのブラッシュアップ処理、出音チェックを経てから本体への再セットアップを実施しております。

セットされた状態では見落としがちな各SPユニットの音量や音質バランスといった点を正確に把握することができるという点から実施しています）

音楽の存在感という単なるスペックでは測定しえないスピーカーシステムの表現力を求めて開発されたスピーカーシステム。

低域には34cmのコーン型ユニットを採用しています。
振動板にはカーボンファイバーを平織り西、優れた内部破損を付加する特殊エポキシ樹脂をバインディング材としてコーンに成型したピュア・クロスカーボン振動板を使用しています。
また、磁気回路にはφ200xφ95x25tmmで磁束密度14150gaussのマグネットを採用しています。

中域にはピュア・クロスカーボンとプラズマ・ナイトライデッドチタンを複合した10cmの複合型ユニットを採用しています。
トゥイーターと同じく高域共振を解消する振動板構造を採用しており、周波数特性をより広帯域・フラット化し、過渡特性を向上させています。

高域には2.5cmのドーム型ユニットを採用しています。
振動板は世界で初めてプラズマ法による表面硬化処理を行ったプラズマ・ナイトライデッドチタンを採用しており、高域共振解消構造を取り入れています。
ポール部周辺に銅リングを装着することで、協力磁気回路による高磁束密度と相まって、電流歪、磁気歪を大きく減少させています。
また、キャビネットの不要振動を遮断する特殊な制動材を使用してハイレンジの純度をさらに高めています。

ネットワークに起因するカラーレーションを排除し、ユニットの音質を厳格に維持しています。

エンクロージャーは高密度パーティクルボードを前面に40mm、裏面に30mm、側板に25mmの厚さで用いて高剛性を確保しています。
さらに、音場感・定位感の向上のためにフロントバッフルの側面に40mmという大きなアールを設け、さらに上側にもテーパーをつけたラウンドバッフルを採用しています。
また、バスレフポートをシステムの背面に設けることでポートから放射される音がスピーカーユニットからの音に干渉する現象を防いでいます。
バッフル面を徹底的にフラット化し、装飾的なエンブレムやレベルコントローラーによって起こる音波反射をゼロに近づけています。
