The "ESSEL" engraving on the inner temple represents a prestigious French brand renowned for inventing the world's first semi-rimless (Nylor) frame. In 1972, the company merged with Silor to form "Essilor," currently the world's largest ophthalmic lens manufacturer. The presence of this standalone "ESSEL" hallmark serves as definitive proof that this is an authentic vintage piece manufactured prior to 1972.
