総人口約30万人のアイスランドで製作された初のホラー映画である。脚本は『ダンサー・イン・ザ・ダーク』でアイスランド出身の歌手ビョークの作詞を行ったことで知られるシオン・シガードソンが手がけた。

【物語】
ホエール・ウォッチングのため、世界中から観光客の集まるアイスランド、レイキャヴィク。あるよく晴れた日、6組の乗客を乗せていつものように観光船は出 航した。
しかし不慮の事故で突如船長を失った観光船は、帰港する術をなくしてしまう。そこへやってきた家族経営の捕鯨船が、取り残された観光客たちに救い の手を差し伸べるのだが、それが恐怖のシナリオの始まりであった…。
